Working arrangements

Before an assignment is confirmed.

Quotations and bookings

A website enquiry is a request for information or a quotation. It does not confirm availability, reserve a practitioner or create a paid booking. The scope, price, schedule and applicable terms must be agreed in writing.

Scope and fees

The quotation should identify the deliverables, languages, review process, included revisions, any travel or equipment, applicable taxes and payment arrangements. Changes to an approved scope may require a revised quotation.

Client material and approvals

Clients should provide an accurate brief, usable source material and the authority needed to share it. Relevant terminology, reference material and receiving-authority requirements should be supplied before work starts. Client approvals and subject-matter review should be arranged where needed.

Specialist requirements

Sworn or certified translation, specialist interpreting and sign language support depend on the appropriate practitioner and the assignment requirements. Confirmation is made during scoping. Language work is not a substitute for advice from a qualified legal, medical or other specialist adviser.

Turnaround, changes and cancellation

Deadlines depend on confirmed scope, availability and timely provision of required material. Cancellation, postponement, revision and payment arrangements are set out in the written quotation or assignment agreement.

PR and communication outcomes

Deliverables and activities are agreed in the scope. Editorial decisions, media coverage, public reactions and particular business or reputation outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Rights and concerns

Usage rights and ownership of deliverables should be addressed in the assignment agreement. Nothing on this page excludes rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. Raise any concern with the director.
